Astoria Pug Inc

Astoria Pug is a Queens, NY-based 501(c)(3) running free community food-scrap composting to divert organic waste from landfills, using mascot "Rocky the Pug" for outreach and education on environmental justice. Launched in 2020 after NYC cut composting funding, it has collected nearly 500,000 pounds of food scraps and received a 2020 New York State Senate Empire Award.
