The Audubon Society of Greater Cleveland is a 100% volunteer-run chapter founded in 1923, one of Cleveland's oldest continuously operating environmental organizations, promoting conservation and appreciation of birds and wildlife through habitat preservation and education. It owns and manages four sanctuaries totaling 511 acres, including the Aurora Sanctuary (Ohio's oldest privately held nature preserve, established 1941), and serves the Greater Cleveland area with over 1,200 members.
