The Avian Research and Conservation Institute (ARCI), based in Gainesville, Florida, conducts problem-solving research on rare and imperiled birds — including long-term population monitoring, satellite/VHF tracking, and vegetation surveys — to inform management and conservation action. Since 1997 it has focused on applied ecological studies in the southeastern U.S. and Latin America, and also provides training and advisory services to agencies and public education on science-based conservation.
