Barnhart Grove Prairie Restoration Project

The Barnhart Prairie Restoration Project (Champaign, IL) restores and maintains a 120-acre state-protected nature preserve of native tallgrass prairie on the Barnhart family farm south of Urbana, Illinois. Prairie restoration began in 1987 and the site gained Illinois Nature Preserve status in 2005; the nonprofit depends on donations and a 'Keepers' membership program to sustain the preserve and offers public visiting days.
