Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT), founded in 2003 and based in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, works to protect the environment and wildlife of western Massachusetts through three focal areas: stewardship, education and outreach, and watchdogging. Its activities include volunteer-driven river cleanups and wildlife-crossing restoration projects, environmental education events such as Pittsfield Green Drinks, and action alerts urging support for protective environmental legislation.
