Calusa Waterkeeper

Calusa Waterkeeper is a Southwest Florida nonprofit, established in 1995, dedicated to protecting and restoring the Caloosahatchee River from Lake Okeechobee to the coastal waters, along with Lake Okeechobee, Estero Bay, and Lee County's near-shore waters. It conducts water quality monitoring through a citizen Ranger program, advocates on local, state, and national water policy issues such as harmful algal blooms and Lake Okeechobee discharges, and provides public education and outreach.
