Cheney Lake Watershed Inc

Cheney Lake Watershed, Inc., based in South Hutchinson, Kansas, is a rural-urban partnership between area farmers and the City of Wichita, formed in 1994 to protect water quality in Cheney Reservoir, which supplies most of Wichita's drinking water. It works with landowners across the roughly 633,000-acre watershed to implement conservation practices like reduced tillage, cover crops, grass plantings, and relocated livestock feeding areas, supported by cost-share funding, soil health advising, and educational outreach.
