Chicago Audubon Society

Chicago Audubon Society, founded in 1971 as a National Audubon Society chapter, connected people across Chicago-area communities with birds and nature through educational programming, field trips, advocacy, habitat stewardship, and research. In November 2023 the organization rebranded as Chicago Bird Alliance (same EIN and legal history); its accomplishments include creating the Illinois Breeding Bird Atlas and leading the push for a bird-friendly building design ordinance.
