Climate Defense Project

Climate Defense Project provides free, movement-aligned legal support to water protectors, land defenders, and other community-led climate justice campaigns. Its work includes legal trainings, free legal representation for defendants facing prosecution, and connecting attorneys and experts with frontline communities. It also develops legal self-defense and organizing resources, citing a shortage of full-time legal-aid attorneys and a rise in SLAPP suits filed against activists by the fossil fuel industry.
