Community Alliance For Preservation Inc

Community Alliance for Preservation works to retain the rural heritage of Rockingham County, Virginia, and to build and sustain livable communities by engaging on local land use and transportation policy. Formed in 1999 in opposition to a proposed I-81 bypass through the county's agricultural and historic land, it was later instrumental in Rockingham County's 2014 rejection of an exploratory Marcellus Shale gas well and in the campaign that kept oil and gas drilling out of roughly one million acres of the George Washington National Forest.
