The Conservation Foundation, founded in 1972, preserves and restores open space and protects rivers and watersheds primarily in northeastern Illinois' DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will Counties (also serving LaSalle, DeKalb, and Grundy Counties), having helped preserve more than 35,000 acres of open space. It runs programs including Green Earth Harvest organic farming and Conservation@Home residential sustainability, supported by 500+ volunteers and 5,000+ members.
