The Coonamessett River Trust is a Falmouth, Massachusetts nonprofit dedicated to promoting and preserving the natural heritage and ecological integrity of the Coonamessett River, Cape Cod's third-largest groundwater-fed stream, and its surrounding lands. Since 2002 it has partnered with the Town of Falmouth to restore historic herring runs, helping return species like alewives, blueback herring, American eels, white perch, and brook trout, while running river education programs for local schoolchildren and maintaining the Greenway Heritage Trail.
