Coral Ark Inc

The Coral Ark is a Calabasas, California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, founded in 2018, that operates a living "Eco-Vault" near Los Angeles International Airport to hold and grow a wide diversity of coral species in captivity. It aquacultures coral fragments for replanting on degraded reefs worldwide and works to replace wild-caught marine animals in the aquarium trade with sustainably farmed alternatives, under the scientific leadership of coral biologist Dr. Craig Downs.
