Dewees Island Conservancy

Dewees Island Conservancy protects barrier island wetlands and maritime forests on Dewees Island, a barrier island roughly 11 miles north of Charleston, South Carolina. Its work centers on habitat restoration and community education, and it sponsors interns each year who track, inventory, and protect loggerhead sea turtle nests on Dewees Island and at Cape Romain National Seashore.
