Earth Conservation Corps

Earth Conservation Corps is a youth development and environmental service organization based in Washington, D.C., working to restore the Anacostia River. Since 1992 it has engaged young people from the city's under-resourced communities in habitat restoration, wildlife care, field biology, and river cleanup, helping turn the once heavily polluted Anacostia into a swimmable ecosystem. It runs education centers including the Monique Johnson Anacostia River Center and Matthew Henson Earth Conservation Center, offering career development, citizen science, and youth media arts programs.
