Edisto Riverkeeper

Edisto Riverkeeper, operated through Friends of the Edisto (FRED), is the primary advocate for South Carolina's Edisto River, the longest free-flowing blackwater river in the United States. The organization works to protect the quality and quantity of water throughout the Edisto River Basin, pursuing drinkable, fishable, and swimmable water, a sustainable local economy, and preservation of the watershed's rural character and cultural heritage.
