Essex Land Trust
Essex Land Trust is an all-volunteer nonprofit founded in 1968 that acquires and protects open space across Centerbrook, Essex, and Ivoryton, Connecticut, in the Lower Connecticut River Estuary. It owns or holds easements on 770 acres, roughly 70% of Essex's open space, and manages preserves and trails while working with local government to balance conservation with development.
