The Flint River Watershed Coalition (FRWC), incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 1998, works to protect, promote, and improve the 1,363-square-mile Flint River watershed spanning seven southeastern Michigan counties, based in Flint, MI. It runs water quality monitoring, environmental education, a paddling/kayak rental program, and the annual Flint River Stewardship Day, which draws 200-300 volunteers for river cleanups.
