Freshwater Center

The Freshwater Center owns and manages the Freshwater Research & Innovation Center, a 40,000-square-foot facility on Discovery Pier in Traverse City, Michigan, on West Grand Traverse Bay. It connects research, industry, investment, and community to advance BlueTech innovation, supporting freshwater research, entrepreneurship, and workforce development. Construction was slated to begin fall 2025 with completion targeted for early 2027.
