Friends of Alta

Friends of Alta has worked for over 40 years to protect and preserve Alta, Utah's environment, heritage, and character, focusing on Little Cottonwood Canyon and Albion Basin. Its work includes managing 23 conservation easements, reforestation (over 2,200 trees planted), watershed protection, wildlife research such as Black Rosy-Finch monitoring, junior ranger education programs, and advocacy including litigation opposing the proposed UDOT gondola project.
