Afghanistan Samsortya Inc

Afghanistan Samsortya is a nonprofit founded in 2004, based in the Boston, Massachusetts area, that runs community development and environmental restoration projects in Eastern Afghanistan, where its founder grew up ('Samsortya' means revitalization). Its work centers on agro-forestry and reforestation (over 100,000 trees planted), five greenspaces established in Kabul, Jalalabad, and rural Nangarhar, well-drilling for clean water, and a scholarship program covering tuition for young Afghan women entering nursing or midwifery.
