Alabama Forest Land Trust is the leading working forest land trust in Alabama, founded in 1999 out of concern over the loss of the state's forest and farmland habitats. It secures conservation easements that let landowners retain private ownership while protecting land from development, and has helped protect over 90,000 acres of forest and farmland across Alabama.
