Albany Waterway

Albany WaterWay, Inc. is a nonprofit initiative working to revitalize Albany, New York's waterfront by reconnecting the city to the Hudson River and Erie Canal. Its central project is excavating and restoring the Erie Canal's Lock One, currently buried beneath the Central Warehouse, to create a navigable canal system linking to a new boat basin and the river. In February 2025 it received an $85,000 grant from the Advance Albany County Alliance to fund an engineering feasibility study for the project.
