Alewife Cove Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) founded in 2016 by New London, Connecticut-area residents to restore and protect Alewife Cove, which borders Waterford and New London on Long Island Sound. It works on water-flow restoration, habitat protection, and shoreline improvement (including dredging and dam-removal efforts to support alewife spawning), and engages students through citizen science and an annual environmental-studies scholarship.
