Allegheny Land Trust (ALT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1993 that helps local people save local land across Allegheny and Washington Counties in the Pittsburgh region, having protected over 4,134 acres across 43 municipalities. Its work spans land conservation and acquisition, stewardship of protected properties, environmental education, and community conservation initiatives, aimed at countering the roughly 2,000 acres of green space the county loses to development each year.
