The Angeles National Forest Fire Lookout Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit of trained volunteers, operating in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, that restores, maintains, and staffs fire lookout towers in the Angeles National Forest. It currently keeps two active lookouts (Slide Mountain and Vetter Mountain) plus a visitor center at Chilao, with volunteers reporting smoke/fire and providing public interpretation of the lookouts' natural and cultural history.
