Appalachian Voices

Appalachian Voices, founded in 1997 with offices in Boone NC, Charlottesville and Wise County VA, and Knoxville TN, works to protect the land, air, and water of Central and Southern Appalachia and advance a just transition to an equitable clean energy economy. It combats harmful fossil fuel practices such as mountaintop removal mining and fracked-gas pipelines, and promotes renewable energy through grassroots organizing, policy advocacy, and community partnerships.
