The Baja Coastal Institute is a nonprofit founded in 2014 by residents and researchers to conserve the Southeast Region of the Baja California Peninsula, covering roughly 160 km of coastline between San Jose del Cabo and La Paz. It connects science, place-based conservation knowledge, and community well-being through applied research, environmental education, nature-based solutions, and regional conservation alliances such as the Coalicion Cabo Pulmo Vivo.
