Baltimore Green Space

Baltimore Green Space is Baltimore's environmental land trust, founded in 2007 by community gardener Miriam Avins and neighbors after their Homestead Harvest Community Garden (started in 2004 on a reclaimed vacant lot) was threatened with sale. The organization promotes vibrant neighborhoods and a healthy environment through land preservation, research, and community advocacy, and has grown to protect over 62 acres of community-led gardens, pocket parks, and forest patches across the city, with a vision of ensuring these open spaces are treated as priority assets in Baltimore's growth and redevelopment.
