Basel Action Network

Basel Action Network (BAN) is a Seattle-based nonprofit, founded in 1997 and named after the Basel Convention, that works to end the export of toxic waste from industrialized countries to developing nations. It focuses on three waste streams — electronic waste, end-of-life ships, and plastic pollution — using policy advocacy, market-based solutions like its e-Stewards recycler certification, and public engagement to advance environmental justice.
