Big Lake Improvement Association (BLIA), founded in 1956 and based in Craig, Missouri, is a nonprofit dedicated to keeping Big Lake, a 646-acre oxbow lake on the Missouri River, healthy, clean, and vibrant. It partners with the Village of Big Lake to pump water from the Missouri River into the lake and maintain the associated pump infrastructure, and also runs community beautification projects and social events, governed by nine unpaid, elected board members.
