Boundary Waters Heritage Trails

Boundary Waters Heritage Trails (BWHT) is a Minnesota 501(c)(3) founded in December 2023 to preserve and restore historic hiking trails in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Superior National Forest. It coordinates volunteer trail-clearing efforts with the U.S. Forest Service, with a major project being the restoration of the 30-mile Powwow Trail after fire damage, and also works to document trail history and return previously removed trails to public use.
