Cecil Land Trust works to conserve Cecil County, Maryland's farmland, woodland, open space, and waterways that sustain the region's rural communities, with a focus on protecting the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. It protects land primarily through donated and purchased conservation easements and promotes environmentally responsible agriculture, including local food systems and methane digestion initiatives. Based in Elkton, MD, it has protected over 5,000 acres of farmland and forest plus portions of 14 waterways, working with 15 partner organizations through the Cecil Conservation Partnership.
