Charleston Waterkeeper

Charleston Waterkeeper is an environmental advocacy organization working to defend and restore the Ashley, Cooper, Wando, and Stono rivers so people can fish and swim without fear of pollution. It combats bacterial and runoff pollution, holds polluters accountable (including recent action on plastic pellet spills in Charleston Harbor), and runs community programs like oyster reef restoration, marsh cleanups, water quality alerts, and educational events.
