Citizens For Safe Water Around Badger

Citizens for Safe Water Around Badger (CSWAB), based in Merrimac, Wisconsin, organized in 1990 to unite residents concerned about water contamination from the nearby Badger Army Ammunition Plant, push for cleanup of toxic waste there, and work to keep local water resources free of contamination. The group has blocked Army proposals to incinerate and open-burn waste munitions and hazardous waste on site, secured water testing for nearby residents, and led a national campaign against open burning of PCB-contaminated buildings by the military.
