Community Cloud Forest Conservation

Community Cloud Forest Conservation (CCFC) alleviates poverty and protects forests in Guatemala's cloud forest corridor through education, reforestation, sustainable agriculture, and leadership training. Its programs include the Women in Agroecology Leadership for Conservation (WALC) initiative for young Maya women from remote mountain villages, and reforestation/conservation-easement agreements with plantation owners and cloud forest villages to restore native tree species and protect land from agricultural encroachment.
