Founded in Dallas in 1995 and expanded statewide as the Texas Historic Tree Coalition in 2014, this all-volunteer nonprofit is dedicated to finding, researching, recognizing, preserving, and celebrating significant and historic trees across Texas. It works toward documenting notable trees in each of the state's 254 counties and publishes a Texas Tree Advocacy Workbook to help communities protect trees from development.
