Department Of Bioregion

The Department of Bioregion is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, based in the Cascadia bioregion of the Pacific Northwest, dedicated to advancing bioregionalism, the idea that social, economic, and political systems should align with natural boundaries rather than arbitrary borders. It researches bioregional frameworks and works to regenerate bioregions worldwide by providing fiscal sponsorship and capacity-building support (tax-exempt status, financial management, insurance, and operational infrastructure) to grassroots, place-based regeneration projects.
