Detroit Bird Alliance

Detroit Bird Alliance (formerly Detroit Audubon, founded 1939 and incorporated 1957) works to foster the appreciation and conservation of birds and the shared environment by engaging communities and policymakers in protecting wildlife and natural habitats. It rebranded from Detroit Audubon in 2023 and now serves over 6,000 members across a multi-county region, with a long history of environmental activism dating back to a 1948 protest against oil pollution.
