Downeast Coastal Conservancy conserves ecologically significant land along the coast of Washington County, Maine, protecting over 7,000 acres across 15+ named preserves (coastal islands, riversides, beaches, and mountains). It maintains public hiking trails on 12 of its conservation areas and runs community events and nature education programs, with a mission to "conserve essential ecological habitats, engage the local community, and foster an environment where wildlife and people thrive."
