The Forest Education and Conservation Foundation, founded in 1965 as an arm of the North Carolina Forestry Association, funds educational and scientific advancement of forestry and forest resource management in North Carolina. It runs a scholarship program for students pursuing forestry careers, the Sustainable Forestry Teachers Experience summer workshop for educators, and helped develop a high school forestry course now taught in NC schools.
